On the first day of the trip we were all very excited for the next three days to come. The beignets we had for "dessert" were delicious. We also took a tour today and learned about the culture and destruction of New Orleans. We learned a lot and had fun.
We cannot wait to do the volunteer work that needs to be done. It is going to be a very exciting week!

Christine, you are so perfect for this kind of important work. Have fun, learn much. Your dad, Jessica, and us will be watching the blog this weekend while they're here.

A big thank you to the chaperones and students for the great work you're doing for the people and city of New Orleans. I also want to thank all the parents for giving their children the opportunity to experience this great trip. It's a lot of hard work but the rewards will be reaped for a lifetime. Enjoy your last few hours in the great city and have a safe trip home and enjoy your summer.
